Israel, Iran top 'negative list' By Nick Childs BBC world affairs correspondent A majority of people believe that Israel and Iran have a mainly negative influence in the world, a poll for the BBC World Service suggests. It shows that the two countries are closely followed by the United States and North Korea. The poll asked 28,000 people in 27 countries to rate a dozen countries plus the EU in terms of whether they have a positive or negative influence. Canada, Japan and the EU are viewed most positively in the survey. 'Traditional divides' In January, the BBC World Service revealed polling results that suggested most people think the US has a mainly negative influence in the world - and that the numbers had increased significantly in the last couple of years.
This latest GlobeScan survey, mostly of the same people, confirms those findings. But it also suggests that two countries are viewed even more negatively - first Israel, and then Iran. North Korea is just behind the US. Israel, of course, has long provoked sharp international reactions, and last year was involved in a controversial war in Lebanon. Iran and North Korea have both been at the centre of international disputes over their nuclear programmes. Canada, Japan, and the EU are viewed most positively, perhaps because they have all taken less high-profile roles in the world's recent confrontations. India is one country in the survey that seems to have improved its standing in the last year.
In general, opinion seems to divide along the traditional fault lines of international politics. Israel is viewed most negatively in the Muslim countries of the Middle East, although also in Europe. Iran is viewed most positively in the Muslim world. Japan is generally viewed positively, except in China and South Korea. The EU similarly gets good marks, except most notably in Turkey, and also in parts of the Middle East.

But as they say in the advertising game;

I wonder how many people taking this poll know about the NATIVE GENOCIDE that in still ongoing with contaminated water supplies, oppression, torture, etc.

I wonder how many people taking this poll are even aware of the HOURLY violations to their basic human rights the poor & homeless suffer at the hands of police & officials.

This is what they say...but do they REALLY mean it?

Was it a brawl that EVERYONE deserves to be punished and not JUST the ones fighting? This is NOT the type of justice GOD describes. This is NOT the justice JESUS spoke of...so where does it come from, this BLANKET JUSTICE, and why is it allowed to exist?
Two shelters closing at a time when there is already insufficiant care and space available for those in NEED at a time of year when it is MOST needed.
I wonder if it's been mentioned in ANY of these reports that one of the rules here is "NO PRINTING". No resumes, no music, no nothing...There's also NO PHONES, not even to call the POLICE, but thanks for the help, so glad you are here to give us a hand up, and you're not just really standing on our heads holding us down.
CBC was there, and boy, the fixins they put out that day, veggie platter and everything...well, not milk or juice, but some stuff that actually has some nutritional value higher than moldy bread & coffee. I'm sure you got the FULL scoop from them, cause they are our NATIONAL MEDIA and must be interested in 'reporting the TRUTH' and not just 'making the NEWS' like the local stations do.

If not, Homeless Nation has had some film crew around for awhile and I've shared some stuff with them as well...I'm sure they are more interested in getting the TRUTH out than just presenting a nice package for more funding. Right???

but now it's time for...
SPRING CLEANUP
(most think this means time to fix things up, clean things, put your house in order and prepare for the summer).

POLICE participate in a SPRING CLEANUP as well.

But it doesn't involve cleaning up dangerous rigs like this or broken bottles that have melted through the snow in a REAL effort to make the streets safe for our kids...
No...for the poor & the homeless, SPRING CLEANUP has a different meaning altogether...this is time of year where a great many of your friends, who have been lucky enough to survive the winter, will be arrested for one thing or another, so the streets will been cleaned of the poor and tourists won't see them and realize how dishonest and corrupt the cities & system are.

People might begin to figure out that the number of poor is directly proportional to the levels of corruption.

Racism and genocide can be subtle in it's application...but it still remains very evident when you shine the LIGHT on their actions.

Hey, isn't that a commisionaire? They aren't legally allowed to participate in takedowns. Hey, isn't that an undercover, has he identified himself as a police officer? Why were these guys waiting outside to jump this man as soon as he got kicked out of the drop-in?

Yup...that's them alright...now I know why they didn't want me taking pictures. Someone might see it and begin to figure things out.

They aren't there for anyone but themselves.

I actually got kicked out this month for 'NOT FIGHTING', when one of the former night staff (which I'd caught the night before with all the other night staff, out back smoking a doobie after everyone was asleep - or so they thought), attacked, smacked, and uttered death threats to me, and even though I chose to follow Christ and turn the other cheek, take it, ignore him and not 'knock him out'...I was STILL kicked out, for being assaulted, and they told me they would phone the police if I refused to leave.

My question is...If Reverend Al, our "Time LIFE 'Hero'", ALWAYS stands behind his staff, no matter what, (as he's told me personally), what's my motivation for not knocking out the guy that attacked me and then every staff member that tells me to leave, and then the cops for attempting to arrest me for defending myself?

(Which I'm legally allowed to do...but haven't due to my own self-control and FAITH)

Where are the teachings of Christ they speak of when they come for your money & donations?

Where is the kindness, compassion, or LOVE that Christ spoke of in these places?

Where is this JUSTICE the people of Canada speak of...because I've found it to be just a rumour, as it is factually lacking any REAL evidence of existance.

Maybe it's time YOU did something DIFFERENT about it than contributing to it's growth with your apathy?

Wouldn't it be nice to see the TRUTH in print every now and again. I'm sure the ONLY reason people make these kind of By-LAWS, is because they care...right? It's all for YOUR sake. After all, they are SO concerned about your health they made cannabis illegal and cigarettes legal. Though one kills the size of a small city every year, while the other has yet to record a single death because of an overdose. One is free to everyone because you can simply grow it as GOD intended, one must be bought after being manufactured. Neither one has an ingredients list, even though only ONE is natural. Ever ask yourself WHY cigarettes are the ONLY product on the shelves WITHOUT an ingredients list? Ever ask yourself how much of a profit the government makes while it legally & unlawfully MURDERS it's own citizens with poisoned tobacco?
I have, but nobody seems to want the answers.

Can you start to SEE the bigger picture?

This is ONLY the tip of the iceberg.

How can anyone say it's their choice when we don't know what's in it?

When it's even MORE deadly and addictive second-hand, as long as they are made and smoked...who REALLY has a choice?

As long as the government profits so GREATLY from the murder of it's own citizens...why would they stop it?

Just keep dancing around the issue until there's no one left to complain.

High Society - Who THEY are

Ever heard the phrase; "THEY are behind it all." or "It's all THEIR fault, or "THEY are just Liars, Murders & Thieves."

'THEY' this or 'THEY' that, but have you ever truly wondered who "THEY " are? Some think "THEY" are the government, but THEY aren't...in TRUTH, 'THEY' own the government. 'THEY' decide who gets to play and who has to pay. 'THEY' figure it should be up to them as to who lives and who dies...but again, I ask you; "Who are THEY?"

As mentioned in the past, to find the right answers, we must first find the right questions.

Has anyone ever noticed that we have a "High Society", but no "Low Society". I mean, we have a 'Low Class', a 'Medium Class', and a 'High Class', but we only have "society" in general, or "High Society". Strange that it is 'High Society' and not GOD, that dictates how people are allowed to live and how they are not. Are the decisions being made based on NEED or GREED? Are these ByLaws made for the benefit of the many by the few, or for the exclusion and control of the many by the few? Society calls itself "civilized", and yet has built itself up by being anything but.

Here is a piece of writing from the year 1845 that provides a bleak and sobering thought even today, as poverty and torture continues in the "FREE WORLD", but is prevented from being FACTUALLY reported by the media. Whether by force or choice, they only "Make the NEWS instead of Report the TRUTH."

"When one individual inflicts bodily injury upon another, such injury that death results, we call the deed manslaughter; when the assailant knew in advance that the injury would be fatal, we call this deed MURDER.

But when society places hundreds of proletarians, which is quite as much a death by violence as that by the sword or bullet;

Now what are you going to do about it...perhaps you have been unaware that by your actions of supporting society, you have FACTUALLY been making yourselves accessory to MURDER on a spiritual level. It's the entire; "I gave at the office" mentality that has brought us to where we are. Stop giving at the office and start to make it personal...stop giving money to corrupt organizations that defer the monies away from those they are supposed to be helping and DO IT YOURSELF.

LEARN the TRUTH, and the wisdom of Jesus, when he shared the story of the "GOOD SAMARITAN."

He didn't say act as the Holy Man, or the countryman, BOTH of whom walked past the man in need, but to act as the good Samaritan who saw a person in NEED, and helped them, even though he was NOT a countryman, nor a person of his FAITH...he WAS a person in NEED.

Hockey: Sport or Spoof

But at what cost has our sport been changed. The honourable Stephen Harper (ever notice how they get to call themselves "honourable" without actually being "honourable"...but I digress) was interviewed between periods during Canada's attempt to 3-peat as GOLD medal winners, and during this interview he called himself a "hockey purest"...but what does that mean?

It's been said you can tell alot about someone by how they play a game. I imagine it also says alot about a people by how they create their games. Do they make it easier to cheat and fix it to their favour? Or do they create a level playing field?
What does it mean when we allow our sport to be changed to accomidate TV ratings?
When claims are made to make the sport safer by adding the instigator rule to decrease fighting, but they don't add automatic icing to save players from crashing into the boards after racing for the puck.

Where are the more serious injuries really coming from?
What are the real reasons for taking a "penalty shot" and turning it into a game deciding factor for team play? This is a play that was given to someone when they made the heroic effort of getting a breakaway, and then being tripped up or interfeared with. This is not just something handed out because they don't want people getting too much value for ther money...after all, three periods of overtime is a whole new game people should be paying extra for.

They say it is to increase the excitment, but I find it boring waiting around for players to skate in one at a time, instead of the mad scrammbles that can occur from end to end. Maybe they should just create another game where guys just keep skating in on goal, and every 30 or so shots switch goalies...but don't try to call it hockey.
It certainly puts the advantage on the team who has the puck hog STAR players and takes away from the team that plays as a team.
As far as I can remember, neither Wayne Gretzky, nor Rocket Richard, nor Bobby Orr, nor any other GREAT player was EVER on the ice by himself for his entire carrer. As far as I remember, someone else dug the puck out of the corners for them and gave them an amazing pass, or they passed off to someone else who put it into the net for them, or had their goalie make an amazing save after they had their pass picked off.
Please understand. I'm not trying to take anything away from these amazing individuals, I'm only reminding everyone...they had help.
I love Bobby Orr and what he and others have done for minor hockey and putting the FUN back into the game. Perhaps it is long overdue for another review of HOW we adults play this GAME and the example we are setting for our children and then remind ourselves that before the word "HOCKEY"...comes the word "PLAY".
